Planar Attunement and New Lesser Essences

Planar Attunement and New Lesser Essences

Several of our members have gone deep into several planes of planar attunement. The system, which is a bit of a slow grind, can be accelerated through some hardy group mob grinding (Stillmoor and Shimmersand having popular locations) and now through 'Invasion Chasing'.

Meltboogie, Dorikan, Greysoul, Fafryd and Aurelios have all bitten deep into the system. Fafryd last weekend completed all of the endurance boosts, adding another 450 hit points to his tanking spec. Most players are looking at the DPS boosts, of which there are many. All of these out of regular playtime activities boost our raiding success.

With new lesser essences on the horizon costing a lot of inscribed sourcestone, invasion chasing has become a bit of a passtime outside of raid hours. Invasions provide both 5 to 10 inscribed sourcestone each as well as 40k to 80k experience through the crystallised rewards. Depending on the invasion, rewards can be more than half a level of PA points.

HK progression - 4/11 defeated

Reverence has strarted to make progress deeper into Hammerknell. With this, the loot and the Greater Marks have started to flow and the gear upgrades are proving invaluable to support our further progression.

First on the new kill menu was Soulrender Zilas. Zilas had proven to be 'the Johlen of Hammerknell' for Reverence, with many progression nights spent improving execution on the encounter. When everything finally clicked though, the kill was a thing of beauty... and followed up by a quick one shot the following week. The missing factor was the right bias of damage in the centre and on the Magus and with that now refined, Zilas is becoming an easy farm.

Vladmal Prime was next and it took only a little time to refine the encounter and get him down. This was Thumpy's first progression encounter tanking the named boss, with Fafryd and Aranoth on add duty. Well done to all and congratulations to the first Reverence members walking out with HK synergy crystals.

Last on the recent progression list has been Matron. With some experience in wiping on dramatic add phases (maybe 45+ adds is too many), and with the healer group now refined and sequencing settled, Matron has been downed and should enter easy beat territory from here on out.

Sicaron is the next target and our first few pulls on him were encouraging.

HK mark gear is now starting to flow into Reverence at a solid rate. When coupled with dropped gear with their huge upgrades to ROS/GSB era loot, our team is growing in strength.

Several of our team are also progressing well in their Planar Attunement efforts. Grinding is not fun for everyone, but the upgrades are a permanent boost to the character irrespective of gear and many of our crew are working their way through the upgrades.

Well done all and looking forward to the weeks ahead.

Rev News - August/September 2011 - Ride It My Pwny

The month of August saw the crew from Reverence take its first steps into Hammerknell Fortress.  The product of dwarven small man syndrome, every room is about 200 dwarves high, it’s got no less than 10 nasty demonic bosses and even the trash is pretty fiendish.  We downed the demon dog Murdantix, and Babybear got the first T2 trash loot from aforementioned fiendish trash, a double barrelled problem solver that made up for some of our dirtnaps during the early exploration of HK.

Drowned Halls offered additional 10-man T1 raid content, and it wasn't long til we tore that zone a new one and emerged somewhat soggier than we went in, but laden with loots.  August also saw the release of PvP rifts, along with rank 7 and 8 prestige gear, with Reverence leading the fightback in the Laethys rifts which were dominated by Guardians in the first week or two.  Congrats to Phant, Fafryd, Phaen and Riggs who got to rank 8, and there are several other Revs well on their way to achieving this milestone.

Our biggest achievement though, came towards the end of the month, when we got the Conqueror achievement in River of Souls.  Reverence became the first Defiant guild on Laethys to get this, and apart from the 50 cheevos, many of us are now riding ghostly ponies, just rewards for the pwnage we delivered on that fateful night.

September promises further changes to PvP, and we can expect Reverence to be flying the flag there, while on the PvE front we're moving our focus away from T1 raiding with a view to further progression in Hammerknell.  Many of us are looking forward to the master level dungeons and the new 10-man T2 raid, hopefully these happen sooner rather than later.

River of Souls - A return to progression

Congratulations to Reverence entering River of Souls and downing two new bosses on our first visit. We had been putting off adventuring in ROS as we spent most of our raid times in GSB and making a commitment to progress in ROS was overdue.

Greenscale cleared – June news

Greenscale cleared – June news

Reverence cleared all of Greenscale’s Blight in the early part of June 2011. This zone was the focus of our initial raiding progression and it was a great experience to see Reverence start its Rift chapter so successfully, having followed on from being the premiere Australian guild in Vanguard.
